Aluminum profile industry extrusion operation instructions (TOP)

1. Purpose: Standardize extrusion operations, improve production quality and efficiency, and prevent safety accidents.
2. The scope is applicable to the entire process of daily production operations in the Zhelu company’s extrusion workshop.
3. Operation process:
3.1 Extrusion operating procedures:
3.1.1 Use a temperature gradient of 100℃/hour to heat the bucket of ingots to 400℃-450℃.
3.1.2 According to the production schedule, select suitable aluminum billet to the furnace and heat them at 480°C-520°C. The special industrial profiles should according to the specified process temperature.
3.1.3 According to the production schedule, select the mold that meets the production schedule, heat it at 430℃-500℃, and keep it warm for 2-6 hours.
3.1.4 Start the extruder cooling motor-hydraulic motor.
3.1.5 According to the order of the production list, select the special pad for the mold and install it in the mold base then lock the mold base in the extrusion position.
3.1.6 Lock the bucket of ingots, and use the feeding storage to raise the heated and hot-sheared aluminum billet to the aligned position of the material tank.
3.1.7 The master cylinder moves forward and extrus.
3.1.8 When extruding, the initial pressure speed should be slow, and the medium-speed extrusion speed should be adjusted appropriately according to the surface quality of the discharge port profile.
3.1.9 Record the mold number, aluminum billet number, master cylinder pressure, discharging speed, etc. in detail in the original records.

3.2 Extrusion process requirements:
3.2.1 The machine temperature of aluminum billet is: flat mold 470℃-520℃, distribution mold 480℃-530℃, special industrial materials are implemented according to special process requirements.
3.2.2 Mold heating process: flat mold 440℃-480℃, distribution mold 460℃-500℃.
3.2.3 The temperature of ingots bucket: 400℃-450℃.
3.2.4 The extruded profile must have a smooth surface, no longitudinal indentation, black lines, plane gaps, angle deviations, and bevels, and must be high-precision in accordance with the national standard.
3.2.5 Extrusion force: ≤210KG/square centimeter.
3.2.6 The locking pressure of the material tank is 120KG/square centimeter-150KG/square centimeter.
3.2.7 Hydraulic oil temperature ≤40℃.
3.2.8 The outflow speed of profiles is generally controlled at: 6 meters/minute-30 meters/minute.
3.2.9 The time of the mold in the heating furnace is ≤10 hours.

3.3 Precautions for extrusion:
3.3.1 When extruding, such as plugging the mold, the fault time should not exceed 5 seconds to 10 seconds.
3.3.2 When installing the mold, pay attention to safety to prevent the screws slipping and injuring your feet.
3.3.3 When discharging materials, it is strictly prohibited to peek into the discharge port.
3.3.4 Before installing the mold on the machine, you must check the center position and whether the extrusion rod is aligned. Before starting the machine, perform a test run to confirm that it is correct and officially start the machine.
3.3.5 Measure whether the rod temperature, mold temperature, and spindle cylinder temperature meet the requirements.
3.3.6 Check the quality of each 5 billets once.
3.3.7 Check the oil temperature frequently.
3.3.8 Whether each aluminum billet is marked with the furnace number and alloy grade.
